The Women Development Cell (WDC) at Bharatheeya Vidya Nikethan College of Teacher Education is a vital initiative aimed at empowering women, promoting gender equity, and creating a safe and inclusive environment on campus. The cell works proactively to raise awareness among student teachers about gender-related issues and women’s rights.
Objectives of the WDC
•Promote Women Empowerment: Encourage female students and staff to realize their full potential through capacity-building programs, leadership training, and motivational sessions. •Ensure Safety and Equality: Foster a secure and supportive atmosphere where women can pursue their academic and professional goals without discrimination or fear. •Create Awareness: Organize seminars, workshops, and campaigns on topics such as gender sensitivity, legal rights of women, health and hygiene, and self-defense. •Address Grievances: Provide a platform to address and resolve any gender-based grievances confidentially and efficiently, in collaboration with the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) when necessary. •Promote Holistic Development: Encourage participation of women in cultural, academic, and community outreach activities that contribute to their overall growth and confidence.
